Just two days now until the big day. On Tuesday our vet, Dr Ian Parsons, visited the site to ensure the release pride are in tip top form; their collars are still well fitted, their vaccinations are up to date and to take skin and blood samples for various tests that need to be conducted. The Dambwa six were also isolated ready for their move to a holding enclosure next to the site itself, and from where they will actually get released.
All went well with Lion Encounter Zambia staff, volunteers, facilitated research students and interns being involved the whole way. If you are interested in taking part in the Dambwa program please see the links on this blog’s main menu.
The excitement for Friday is mounting. Stay tuned!
